In this entry, I am going to write my reflection upon my quiz 1 in Grammar.
In text 1, I got the correct answer from number 1 until 7
because I read the paragraph and I am able to determine the verbs. I was wrong
in number 8, 9, and 10. I think it is because I thought it was in the past and
I didn’t notice the word men and women.
In text 2, number 6, it is wrong because Rabelli is no
longer riding the tuk-tuk. So, it was supposed to be simple past tense. Next,
in number 9, I wrote is bearing because I was confused of the time clue which
is now. In number 11, the correct answer is protect because it is written there
solar panels and cloth drapes’ and in number 14, the answer is claimes instead
of claimed because he still claimes.
In text 3, I got confused because it is a story-like
paragraph. But thankfully I am able to get the right answer in some of the
questions. I got a lot of wrong answers because I transferred it wrong. I got
it right in the blank but when I transfer it into the boxes, I wrote a
different answer.
In text 4, just like in text 3, it was hard for me to
determine the tense. I got 11/18 because I was not able to determine the time
clause and I didn’t read the paragraph carefully and thoroughly.
In text 6, I got less than half of the marks. This is
because I
didn’t know when do I supposed to put simple past tense or past progressive
tense. So, I couldn’t differentiate between those two.
I think that I need to improve my understanding about this topic.
It was pretty hard because there are four tenses which are simple past tense,
simple present tense, past progressive tense, and present progressive tense.
So, in order to get a better marks, I have to understand it a lot better than
before.
